Is it Safe to visit Lithuania?
Visiting Lithuania is a safe and enjoyable experience, whether you’re a solo traveller or with family or friends. I felt very safe throughout all the different locations I visited during my road trip around Lithuania.
The country is generally peaceful and the people are very friendly and welcoming. You can expect to have a pleasant time while exploring all the beauty this Baltic nation offers.
The crime rate in Lithuania is low compared to other European countries. You should still take the usual precautions, such as not leaving your possessions unattended and being aware of your surroundings in unfamiliar areas.
🚨 I highly recommend taking a good day bag when exploring Lithuania to always make sure your Passport and money are safe. The best bag I have used is The Cabin Max (Read reviews of it here)
The overall best time to visit Lithuania
So when is it actually the best time to visit Lithuania?
The best time to visit Lithuania really depends on what kind of experience you’re looking for.

If you want warm weather, then the summer months are your best bet. From June through August, there’s plenty of sunshine. However, if you prefer cooler temperatures and fewer crowds, the shoulder seasons of April-May and September-October are ideal.
I personally love Lithuania during the winter months as it’s really festive and lots of the attractions have next to no visitors.
But regardless of when you visit, Lithuania always offers something for everyone!
How many days do you need to visit Lithuania?
The amazing part of visiting Lithuania is that you can see so many wonderful sites, in a short amount of time. A long weekend of 3-4 days is a great amount of time to see the main sites around Lithuania.

But if you want to see Lithuania and all its hidden gems, I highly recommend renting a car and visiting for at least one week.
But no matter how many days you spend here, you can easily get around and see the most popular cities and landmarks.
Is Lithuania cheap to visit?
Yes, Lithuania is a very affordable country to visit!
Prices in general are much lower than many Western European countries and the cost of living is quite low as well. Food, accommodation, and transportation can all be found for a reasonable price.

Most major cities will have good public transport systems, including buses and trams, and these are also generally very affordable. However, renting a car in Lithuania is an amazing way to save money and see a lot of the major sites!
So if you are looking for a budget friendly break, Lithuania is a great option!
When should I visit Lithuania?
The Best time to visit Lithuania or anywhere in Europe will totally depend on what you want to do and see during your trip.
But no matter when you decide to visit Lithuania, there are endless things to do and see all year round.
Lithuania also has lots of budget airlines like Ryanair regularly flying there so you can always get a cheap flight if you plan well!
One of the most popular things to do is visit the many Holocaust sites across Lithuania to learn about this dark part of history. I highly recommend visiting these during any trip to Lithuania.
✔️ The best tours to book are Ninth fort and Vilnius Jewish district and Ghettos.
