Is it hard to park in Corfu town?

You should have no problems parking in or around Corfu Town!

It’s also easy to reach from other parts of the Island like Sidari, so is well worth visiting!

But if you visit during peak times or in the summer, it may take you a bit longer.

No matter if you want to be close to the ferry port or right in the centre, you will find free or paid options to use.

However, if you are not the most confident driver I would recommend arriving around 10 AM or after the mid-day rush. This will help you relax and find a spot that is right for you!

To make the most of Corfu Town, stay there for at least one night!

Some of the most popular areas to park are near the old fortress.

There is a big car park there and is in a great location to explore the old town and fort.

Not all parking is free, but don’t let this put you off hiring a car because it is so worth it!

If you are not bothered about being in a car park, there are plenty of off-street parking options that are completely free!

One of my favourite free spots is behind the Old Fortress as it’s usually less busy.

Either try the most popular choice is to park around 10 minutes out of town and walk in.

However, parking isn’t very expensive if you use one of the car parks.

Final thoughts on Parking in Corfu Town

Visiting Corfu Town is absolutely worth it and is 100% easier if you do it by car (You can’t drink the tap water in Corfu so it’s a good idea to stock up on bottled water here!).

There are plenty of parking options from private to public so you should not struggle to find somewhere to leave your car.

However, in the peak summer months, I do recommend trying to find parking before mid-day as it can get busy.

Just make sure you are not driving in flip-flops when you are driving, as you will face a fine!
